As seen on Golf Channel: Reduce those annoying three-putts with this practice regimen to dial your lag putting
Practice makes perfect, right?
Well, it can. But only if your time spent practicing is focused on the right things.
For example, that 10-minute warmup you’re accustomed to – the one where you may only hit a putt or two right before you tee off – isn’t helping your cause to avoid the multiple three-putts you rack up every time you play.
Sound familiar? You’re not alone.
Fifty-eight percent of GOLFTEC students, in fact, average more than three three-putts per round. And many are well above that number!
That’s compared to PGA Tour pros that average just .36 three-putts per round, which is about as big of a difference as a Dustin Johnson tee shot to, well … just about everyone else.
Point is, if your putting acumen sounds more like the above group of GOLFTEC students, it may be time to switch up how you practice. Even if it is only for a few minutes.
In the video below, GOLFTEC VP of Instruction, Nick Clearwater, shares a couple of drills that focus on lag putts and the proper practice distance that’ll help set you up for success on the greens. Take a look and start eliminating those three-putts today!
