Annika, Lydia, Bubba, the Claret Jug – Day 1 of the PGA Merchandise Show had it all, and the fun’s just begun

By Jon Levy

ORLANDO, Fla. – Forty-thousand people. Ten miles of floor and 1,000 exhibitors under one roof, home to more of EVERYTHING you can imagine regarding the game of golf.

Didn’t I say I’m blown away every time I walk through those doors? The sentiment holds.

Some of my highlights:

IMG_3677A great chat with Annika Sorenstam at Callaway Golf, discussing the amazing ways she’s growing the game and her most poignant piece of advice for the golfing public to improve.

A few minutes with current World No. 1 in the women’s game, Lydia Ko, who is exactly as nice as she seems on TV.

Bubba Watson & Jon Levy - GolfTEC Interview

Bubba talking drivers, go-to shots and the Masters. Need I say more? #BubbaGolf

Holding a piece of golf history in the Claret jug, which was of course heavily guarded by reigning champ Zach Johnson’s caddie, Damon Green. Damon had a fascinating recall of both of Zach’s major championship wins, the 2007 Masters and 2015 Open Championship.

Oh yeah, and the rest of the madness the PGA Merchandise Show entails, which really is EVERYTHING. Let’s see what tomorrow brings.
