We review the new Callaway Mack Daddy Forged wedges with Roger Cleveland at the PGA Show

By GolfTEC Digital

It’s not every day when you get to talk to legendary clubmaker, Roger Cleveland.

But it’s hardly any day when the man himself – THE sole person virtually responsible for modern wedge design – takes you through his new creations as you product test just a few feet away.

That’s why we’ll call GolfTEC’s Jon Levy one lucky guy, as Cleveland graciously gave him and GolfTEC the scoop on Callaway’s new Mack Daddy Forged wedges at PGA Show Demo Day.

Take a look at the features of these wedges as highlighted by Cleveland in the video below, which include a brand new groove placement, refined leading edge and softer, enhanced feel a forging provides.

Callaway’s Take: Signature shape, tour performance in a forged design

Exceptional control from signature shaping and progressive CG
New shape and progressive CG locations to promote a lower, more controllable trajectory in the higher lofts

More spin from new 16-groove configuration
New 16-groove configuration incorporates an added groove near the leading edge for more spin, especially on pitches and chips

Increased versatility from new •R• grind
A defined crescent sole creates more precision shot-making options, especially on half shots and from tight lies

Soft feel from forged construction and rich finishes
Forged of soft 1025c steel for great feel and consistency. Choice of two finishes: Nickel Chrome with copper strike for a refined look, Brushed Slate for a raw look

Consistency and feel from a premium shaft and grip
Equipped with True Temper’s Dynamic Gold Tour Issue shaft (No. 1 wedge shaft on Tour) and Lamkin’s custom-designed UTx grip for great feel, traction and control

*Offered in lofts of 50, 52, 54, 56, 58 & 60 (50, 54 & 60 in RH only)
