Titleist releases three new iron models in the T-Series that’s tailored to fit every type of golfer

By Sabrina Naccarato

Titleist T-SeriesWith the new additions of the TS1 and the TS4, Titleist rounded out their driver line to accommodate just about every golfer. It’s crucial to have the perfect driver, but that’s only covering half of the game. And Titleist knew this.

To ensure that every golfer’s game was optimized throughout the bag, they knew there was room for improvement with their irons. Even though they’ve been the longstanding #1 iron on the PGA Tour, that type of iron doesn’t fit everyone.

So did they release a one size fits all iron? No. Titleist went back to the drawing board and delivered three new iron designs as a part of the Titleist T-Series.

For Every Player

All three models of the T-Series irons offer something unique, but they’re all backed by power, performance, playability, and feel.

“There are three key elements to hitting a great iron shot: distance, dispersion, and angle of descent,” said Marni Ines, Director, Titleist Irons Development, Golf Club R&D. “T-Series technology helps players carry the ball longer and hit their number more consistently, even when they don’t make a perfect strike.”

T100 irons

The T100 iron is a player’s iron. The fully-forged dual cavity construction provides exact distant and control thanks to the feedback of the Titleist tour pros. With a thinner face, thinner topline, and minimal offset, this progressive design is nearly everything the better players desire in an iron.

“With T100 we wanted to build an iron that delivers incredible performance and perfectly suits the player’s eye,” Ines said. “This is a precision product. It’s not about hitting it the furthest, it’s about hitting it that exact distance each and every time, being able to work the ball when necessary and having that pure look and feel that the best players in the world demand.”

The T200 is the player’s distance iron. Titleist wanted to keep the feel of a traditional player’s iron, like the T100, but help add a little distance gain. This model features Max Impact technology, which delivers maximum speed and distance control across a forged SUP-10 L-Face Insert. However, it doesn’t sacrifice the look or feel of a players iron.

“When you have a face technology like Max Impact, it becomes doubly important to balance the construction with high-density tungsten to achieve the high MOI you need to keep the club stable at impact,” Ines said. “Having such high MOI properties at our blade lengths allows the iron face to return more energy to the golf ball on off-center shots and produce more consistent distances. If you don’t have a high MOI, you’re not going to get the full benefits out of your face design.”

So there’s player’s iron, the player’s distance iron and now enter the player’s improvement iron: T300. This model is powered by Max Impact technology and is the most forgiving iron but still offers a modern shape. The fast cavity-back design delivers a combination of high launch, distance, and forgiveness.

“T300 is the ultimate game improvement iron,” said Josh Talge, Vice President, Titleist Golf Club Marketing. “It goes high and far, it’s exceptionally playable, and it looks great. T300 has a higher MOI than our prior generation game improvement model for even more distance and forgiveness. From address, you’d never believe how much technology is built into this iron.”

Max Impact Technology

We mentioned the Max Impact Technology in the T200 and T300 models, but what exactly does that mean? Max Impact technology extends maximum speed across the entire clubface. Both models have a super-thin face that’s backed by a unique polymer core, which was developed in partnership with Titleist Golf Ball R&D, provides consistent distance almost every time.

“Max Impact allows us to make thinner, faster faces that push the limits of iron ball speed,” Ines said. “With this system in place, we’re able to take our materials and make them thinner and faster to maximize speed across the face, and help give us the launch angle we need to deliver more consistent distances on every swing. In other words, you’ll end up with more shots that hit the green – and stop there.”

Co-forged dual-density tungsten (with an average of 66 grams placed in the heel and toe) delivers exceptional stability. Tour-refined sole shape features a thin topline, minimal offset, and enhanced camber for improved turf interaction. Progressive set design – with progressive blade lengths, sole widths, and hosel lengths – delivers optimal CG positioning with preferred shaping through the set.
