We asked some of our top Coaches to share AND disprove common misconceptions about GOLFTEC

By Sabrina Naccarato

After nearly 25 years in business, we’ve heard our fair share of misinterpretations about GOLFTEC. From our lessons only benefiting “good” players to the custom club fitting costing an arm and a leg (both fallacies, btw). But rather than having me go on and on to prove these misconceptions wrong, we’re going straight to the horse’s mouth, our coaches.

Too much tech?

It’s nearly 2020, and there’s technology all around. However, we’ve been doing the whole tech mixed with golf thing since 1995. Some people aren’t a fan of the two crossing each other’s path, but that’s how we help people play better golf.

GOLFTEC Grand Rapids Center Manager and best teacher in Michigan, Ian Hughes, touches on this subject. He even goes one step further and shows that tech doesn’t only help “better” players; it can benefit anyone.

Piggybacking on what Ian said about technology, GOLFTEC Omaha Franchise Owner and Director of Instruction and best teacher in Nebraska, James Kinney, discusses how technology doesn’t make our lessons harder; it makes them much more comprehensive. In the video below, he shows an example of how one of his students is using audio feedback to work on his path.

Swing your swing!

Another one of the biggest misconceptions we often hear is that we teach everyone to swing the same swing or teach a “cookie-cutter” swing. That could not be farther from the truth! We are firm believers that each golfer has their own swing, and we’re just trying to tweak bits and pieces of it to help you play your best golf and swing your best swing.

GOLFTEC Westminister Center Manager and best teacher in Colorado, Nathan Morris, dives into that exact subject.

GOLFTEC Westshore Regional Manager and best teacher in Florida, Steve Lippincott often hears the same thing, “we teach everyone the same swing.” He shares that by using fact over opinion, teaching the “same swing” is nearly impossible.

  1. Over the years I have had golf lessons the old fashion way with little lasting results. With golf tech I can see what I’m doing wrong and what I need to do I also like that I can go back and watch the videos and fix the problem when the old swing comes back. With just a few lessons I’m striking the ball much better and more consistent.
I’m 70 years old and Jamie in the Omaha location has developed a swing that meets my physical handicaps. I’m very pleased with Golf Tech and highly recommend them.
