The new PING G710 irons have a new look and brand new technology meant to be longer and more forgiving than the G700s

By Sabrina Naccarato

During this launch season, it’s pretty easy for irons to get lost when there are so many cool drivers hitting the market. However, this is one line of irons you won’t want to get lost in all of this launch madness. The new PING G710 irons are the latest innovative irons from PING that are bound to make a splash in the somewhat crowded equipment game.

So what makes these irons so different? Well for starters, the first thing you’re going to notice is the striking black finish. PING decided to use a hydropearl chrome finish with black PVD coating. This special coating is meant to repel water and improve performance through the turf and in wet conditions. This finish also creates the perception of a more compact head.

The look of a club is always cool but how is it going to perform? By now, everyone should be aware PING is the powerhouse when it comes to MOI and the G710 irons are not lacking MOI by any means. Actually PING increased the MOI by 5 percent due to the 17-4 stainless steel body and high-density tungsten toe and shaft weights. With this increase of MOI, these clubs are going to produce more forgiveness off the face which is great for the mid-to-high handicaps.

Probably one of the most unique features of this iron line is that every club comes equipped with the Arccos Smart Grip. This grip is able to record and analyze every shot taken during a round when paired with the Arccos Caddie app. To find out exactly how this feature works, check out more details in the features and benefits section below.

G710 irons

Longer. More forgiving. Our longest, most forgiving iron is the product of a maraging steel face that combines with a stainless steel body to create metal-wood like flexing, faster ball speeds, added distance and higher shots with stopping power. Feel and sound are greatly enhanced, as well.

5% higher MOI The 17-4 stainless steel body and high-density tungsten toe and shaft weights increase the MOI, producing exceptional forgiveness for more distance and accuracy, especially for mid-to-high handicaps and slower swing speeds.

Maraging Steel Face for faster ball speeds The strong yet flexible C300 maraging steel face is thin and precision machined to deliver faster ball speeds for launching shots higher and farther.

Stealth, Hydropearl Finish A hydropearl chrome finish with black PVD coating provides hydrophobicity to repel water and improve performance through the turf and in wet conditions. The stealth finish also creates the perception of a smaller, more compact head.

A Sound Design Undesirable frequencies, identified using modal analysis, are damped through the application of an epoxy behind the face, resulting in a pleasing sound and feel.

Arccos Smart Grip Standard on every G710 iron is the Arccos Smart Grip, which is custom built with an embedded sensor to automatically record and analyze every shot taken during a round when paired with the Arccos Caddie app. Golfers receive a 90-day free trial of the app and eight free screw-in sensors after purchase of six or more G710 irons.  Golf Pride 360 Tour Velvet/Arccos Smart Grip is available in Aqua (-1/64″), White (Std.) and Gold (+1/32″).

Alta Distanza Black 40 Graphite Shaft (optional) 42-gram iron shaft with more active tip delivers higher trajectories. Offers the lightest weight and max trajectory height available in a PING iron shaft.
