Vice President of Instruction, Nick Clearwater, was recognized as one of Golf.com’s Top 100 Teachers in America
If you like to consume golf content, whether it be GOLFTEC’s content on various channels, Golf Channel, or GOLF Magazine, you’ve probably heard the name Nick Clearwater once or twice. But who is this Clearwater fellow?
Nick Clearwater, Vice President of Instruction for GOLFTEC, leads the Teaching Quality team that conducts training and curriculum for all GOLFTEC Coaches to continue to improve their teaching and coaching abilities. Most recently he received the 2020 Colorado PGA Teacher of the Year award. He has been a speaker, presenter, and instructor all over the world and has received numerous honors offered to teachers by Golf Digest including Best Young Teachers and Best Teachers in Your State. The Golf Channel has shown over 300 videos he has scripted, been featured in, and produced as well as another 300 he produced for other coaches.
Oh, and he was just recently named to Golf.com’s list of 100 Top Teachers in America. As Clearwater continues to build on his accolades in the golf world, we are taking a look back at some of the best pieces of content he’s been a part of throughout the years. In the September 2019 issue of Golf Digest, Nick Clearwater was featured discussing why turning properly in the backswing is a key element to hitting the ball farther and more consistently. In the video to the right, Clearwater dives deeper into his Golf Digest feature.
GOLFTEC featured on an episode of Swing Expedition with Chris Como on the Golf Channel in the fall of 2019. This playlist contains all of the segments from the show- including Nick Clearwater and Chris Como’s discussion about GOLFTEC’s origin, Como receiving a golf lesson from Clearwater, and discussions with GOLFTEC Students who share their first-hand experiences.
In the January 2020 issue of Golf Digest, Nick Clearwater was featured once again to discuss a common problem golfers face and how they can fix it. In this video, Clearwater shares a drill that expands on his Golf Digest article. He hits on how golfers can improve their backswing to hit the ball a little farther.
Nick Clearwater is joined by pro golfer and social media star- Kenzie O’Connell to discuss all things beginner golf. This series features the basic understandings of the game for people who are just picking golf up for the first time or who need to brush up on their golf basics before hitting the golf course.
A majority of golfers who come into GOLFTEC struggle with hitting a slice. In this eight-part series, Nick Clearwater breaks down what can cause a slice and ultimately what golfers can do to finally rid themselves of that dreaded ball flight for good.
