The Relationship Between the Monday Q Info and a Mini Tour Legend

“You go from the dream on green velvet, to the grind, trying to make weight at the airport an hour later.” This statement pretty much sums it up. Professional golfer Mark Baldwin and his good friend and caddie Ryan French, better known in social media circles as Monday Q Info, have been living the grind for a few years now. Recently, they visited us at GOLFTEC to share their story of friendship, player/caddie relationship and the game they both love so much.

Mark has played on at least eight different professional tours around the world, and over the last three years has made 60 starts on the Korn Ferry Tour. He’s tried to Monday Qualify into several PGA Tour events along the way as well. Monday Qualifying is the world that Ryan French lives in as he tracks all of them from his Monday Q Info (@acaseofthegolf1) Twitter account. You couldn’t have a more natural fit as these two became fast friends as a player/caddie team.

Mark’s first big moment came in 2021 at the Barracuda Championship, where he Monday Qualified to get into the field, and with Ryan on the bag, promptly made the cut and finished T34. Not bad for his first ever tournament on the PGA Tour.

In February of 2022, Mark got another big break when he received a sponsor exemption into the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am. Playing in just his second ever PGA Tour event, Mark again made the cut and finished T49.

Mark was then back at the Barracuda Championship in July of 2022, making another cut and earning another paycheck. A perfect 3-for-3 in his PGA Tour career of playing in events and making the cut.

It’s these successes that Mark talks about having to hold on to, because as he puts it, “The hardest part of being a professional golfer, is that there’s so many more down moments than up.”

It’s definitely a grind, and not many have seen it up close and personal more than Ryan. His Monday Q Info Twitter account has over 100,000 followers, who all rely on him for updates on who made it into that week’s PGA or Korn Ferry Tour events.

For a guy who spends his time telling stories about these golfers’ lives, he sure gets uncomfortable talking about his own, “All of it is surreal, the first time someone asked me for a selfie I don’t even want to think about that picture becoming public because it was so awkward.”

It’s the passion for the game of golf and the respect for each other that makes Mark and Ryan so likable and easy to root for. GOLFTEC is proud to sponsor athletes like Mark, the dream chasers who so desperately want to make it in professional golf. We also have been lucky to work with great partners like Ryan and The Fire Pit Collective, who bring us these great golf stories. Speaking of which, watch the video below as the tables were turned and Mark caddied for Ryan at his hometown City Open. We’re sure there will be more from Mark and Ryan, and whatever it is, we can’t wait to share it!
