Improve your ball striking, become more consistent & gain distance with this great video drill!

By GolfTEC Digital

We have taught more than 6 million golf lessons over the last 21 years, and a leading challenge we see for amateur golfers is a poor impact position. This can be caused by a variety of characteristics in the golf swing, but today we’re going to focus on one of the most common and, unfortunately, one of the most difficult to correct.

Many amateur golfers try to scoop the golf ball using their wrists and arms, causing the lead wrist to break down and the lead arm to “chicken wing,” or break down, at impact. This results in endless problems—fat shots, thin shots, bladed wedges, loss of distance, no consistent divot pattern and ball striking that is all over the map.

If you struggle with this breakdown in your lead elbow and wrist, GolfTEC’s Andy Hilts has the drill for you. The Straight Arm Chipping Drill uses the chipping motion to emulate the very similar motion through impact of your full swing. Watch the Straight Arm Chipping Drill to start improving your impact position and striking the ball better today!
